Xinhua Daily Press Group, The Modern Enterprise System Research

The media industry is one of the most exciting industries in China today. Like state owned enterprises in other sectors, media organizations are in the process of moving from the shallow matters of improving their skill level, and optimizing their business management principles to the deeper level of reforming the property rights system and modernizing the enterprise management system.This paper firstly analyzes the present state of the modern newspaper industry in China and recounts the process of experimentation in reforming the domestic newspaper system in comparison with the present state of the newspaper industrial management system overseas. In view of the mature of enterprises in the media industry and beginning from an ordinary theory of modern enterprise management, this paper synthesizes the experience of domestic media in the phase of transition, describes in detail the feasibility and necessity of establishing a modern enterprise system for the Xinhua Newspaper Group and from the viewpoints of human resources, finance systems and cultural innovation proposes a corresponding policy for the reorganization of the Xinhua Newspaper Group.
