Support System For Inventory Decision-making Based On Data Warehouse Technology

With the development of the compute science, the computer has been used in the traffic trade in order to make the enterprise managed and run very well. Then a great deal of data have been accumulated during the process of management. And the quantity of data become more and more. Sometimes the data can imply some information. So many people want to update the computer technology to meet the need to make the decision.With analyzing the background and essence of logistics industry, the article puts forward a kind of stocks DSS based on data warehouse technology. This system can help the leaders of the enterprise to do some decisions based on the data.At first, the article introduces some technology about DSS, data warehouse and OLAP. Then the important of building stocks DSS in logistics enterprises is analyzed in the article. The article also provides some methods of building this system. After compared some architectures, we decide to use client/server architecture. And the design of component and working flow is given.After analyzed the fact of stocks in logistics industry, we provided the design of data extract and data cleanse. The dimension, the measure, the fact table, the muhidimension data and the data cubes of the system are also discussed in the article. At last, we use OLAP technology to query and analyze. And the solution of data warehouse put forward by Sybase Corporation is adopted in the system.The characteristics of system also are given at the end of the article.
