Xml-based Data Integration Research And Applications

The enterprises have developed a lot of applications in their information systems. These applications have their own data sources and are based on different platforms. It is very important for enterprises whether the applications will be integrated or not, because integrated applications can help enterprises to implement data sharing, supply users with an integrated view of heterogeneous data and automate their business processes.This paper researches on XML-based data integration and its application. It begins with the tasks of data integration and the problems to be solved during integration, and presents an XML-based data integration architecture. The architecture combines the advantages of some other projects, uses XML Schema and XQuery as the common data model and global query language, and supports the integration of relational sources, XML sources and CSV file sources.This paper first presents the XML Schema creation of relational sources, XML sources and CSV file sources, and the integration of their XML Schemas. Then the paper presents a simple XQuery decomposition algorithm and validates its completeness > Tightness and applicability by an experiment. The paper also presents a query processing framework of the relational agent and XML agent. Finally the paper discusses the key technologies on implementation of the XML-based data integration system in the Central South University Information Harbor.The innovative aspects of this paper are the presentation of the XML-based data integration architecture, the presentation of the XML Schemas integration of relational sources, XML sources and CSV file sources, the presentation of the XQuery decomposition algorithm, and the presentation of the query processing framework of relational agent and XML agent.
