With the wide use of computer and network in daily life, Workflow has become a critical technology for enterprise on coordinating business process, enhancing the abilities of meeting an emergency and of competitive power.As a software carrier of Workflow, the main intention of WfMS, invoking various resources of information and human power involved to cooperate the various parts of the business process, which is made to perform tasks according to a predefined sequence in turn, is to achieve the automation of the business process.The mechanism of synchronization , which impacts on the expression ability of process model directly, is an essential part in researching on WfMS.While the expression ability of process model determines the width and depth of application of the WfMS.So the main intention of the research on the mechanism of synchronization is how to improve the expression ability of process model, which enables the WfMS to meet the new request for the application than ever before.The aim of this article, from the point of view of the mechanism of synchronization, based on the Petrinet-Token-Drive-Model, is at making the process beyond expression ever before expressive now. The research is focused on three aspects such as the achievements of relative fields, specially of the CSCW, the achievements of the mechanism of synchronization in WfMS which is paid much attention to, specially of the Petrinet-Token-Drive-Model, the new question of application of the WfMS which is attached importance to and whose solution SynFlowModel is given?Its contents is as fallows.1.The Dialog Activity and Meeting Activity have been introduced in the WfMS to express particular cooperative process, which are referred the Dialog Model and the Meeting Model In CSCW.2.The Asynchronous Activity Group is brought forward to express asynchronous cooperative process .And referred the current study of theWfMS, the Extended-Synchronization-Area is put forward to synchronize the Mutiflow which is generated by the Asynchronous Activity Group. 3.The Activity Message as a mechanism of synchronization is brought forward to solve the problems of that participants in cooperative process could not communicate each other directly.The mechanisms of synchronization in SynFlowModel enhance the expression of the Petrinet-Token-Drive-Model and have been implemented in the product of the WfMS. This article wishes all the achievements have positive effect on the researching on the mechanism of synchronization in WfMS.
