Integrated Materials Management System In The Steel Industry

Material management plays an important role in enterprise production. The increase of material production level helps to dig the huge potential of enterprise, shorten production cycle and improve enterprise production benefit.Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) mostly includes inventory management and procurement management; but workshop material management is hardly been dealt with. MES can control and manage the material of workshop tier effectively, lacking of management for inventory. ERP&MES oriented integrated material management system is put forward in this paper according to the requirement of material management for steel industry. This system submits material consumption, man-hour ration, product line running status and actual order execution status etc. to ERP/SCM system, and various information of production instruction is released to bottom control tier through it. Closed loop control is formed, realizing the smooth material flow of enterprise production. The main study contents are as follows:1. ERP&MES oriented integrated material management system is put forward, which is a method combing inventory management in ERP with material track management in MES, according to the requirement analysis of ERP inventory management and MES material track management of steel industry.2. According to above ideas, the system model of material management is constructed and integrated with other function modules, realizing the direction effect on material supply of production management through material management.3. According to the actuality and characteristics of Dalian steel Corporation, material management system supporting the integration of ERP and MES is analyzed and designed in detail, and material management system of steel industry is also developed.Material management system of steel industry supporting the integration of ERP and MES is developed in the paper, adopting advanced modeling tools and J2EE 4 tiers architecture. By use of this system, material state and production Status can be tracked in real time, and systems correlative with enterprise production process are facilitated to run effectively, improving enterprise management level.
