Process Knowledge System Design And Implementation

This paper introduces the concept of "Process Knowledge" from the crossing research between process management and knowledge management at first. Because the existing course modeling method and business process representation method are mainly designed and developed to the concrete workflow of manufacturing, it is unsuitable to express the process in management. This paper has carried on attribute analysis and BNF representation of process knowledge in the management in terms of systematic science. In order to meet the demands of the expressing and building submodule of the project named "National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) management process design", it provides the systematic architecture of process knowledge management system based on Web technology. And under this systematic architecture, it has discussed the analysis, design and realization of each subsystem in detail. The major completed work as follows:(1) The traditional pixel-based flowchart with figure and text pays more attention to the process's form but not it's content. It is very difficult to analyse the topological structures of process. In order to avoid this drawback, on the basis of analyzing the attribute of process knowledge in management, process knowledge model is built by adopting Database technology.(2) Process knowledge model management background subsystem which under C/S mode is developed by adopting Java technology. This subsystem guides the administrator of management organization to create, delete or modify process knowledge models with friendly figure interface.(3) Graphic process knowledge model redraw foreground subsystem which under B/S mode is developed by adopting JSP and VML technology. This subsystem regards JSP as control technology, read the information of process knowledge model from database, redraws it to flowchart with VML language actively. It provides a web environment to browser the process knowledge information for Internet user. Meanwhile, it is another feature of the system that the flowchart redrawn by VML supports information search.
