Optimal layout is an important part of computer aided mold designing, rational layout design can increase the ratio of material utilizing and advance the economic benefit of factories. The main contents are listed as follows: Some key technologies like curved discretization and contour offset are lucubrated; Aimed at the single shaped blanking, the arithmetic of single row and pair-wise double row are designed; in order to make the layout efficient, some optimizing strategies are also brought forward. Appling the above-mentioned arithmetic, some layout modes on the development of CATIA, such as single row, double row, pair-wise single row and pair-wise double row and so on, are realized. The application result shows that the optimal layout program is efficient and reliant.
