The Shoemaking industry is a traditional industry in our country. The output of shoes of China is the most in the world during passed six years. But because of low information level, the efficiency and design level of our shoemaking enterprises are very low, so they can not compete with the enterprises in developed countries. Under global internationalization circumstance, Shoemaking industry should improve informational level so that its efficiency and design level can be increased. Shoe CAD system have been the key part of shoemaking information. A whole Shoe CAD include upper, sole design and 2D/3D design of shoe last; upper pattern's design; optimum layout; NC machining. The research content of this article is sole design and optimum layout of the Shoe CAD system.When design pattern of sole, almost sole should fill pattern. The traditional algorithm included scan line algorithm and seed filling algorithm, but these algorithm will compute intersection with the edge of the region. The region's edge composed with the irregular line that will cause high level compute complexity. For this problem, on the base of the feasible area, this article brings forward an algorithm of filling patternbased feasible area. This algorithm cut down the effect of geometry complexity to pattern filling and can be used to fill any region. Furthermore, according to the sole design need, this article offer drawing function assembly in the Shoe CAD system.The 2D optimum layout of the pattern is NPC problem that possess high degree compute complexity. For a long time, this problem always is the hot problem in automation field. At former article of optimum layout, optimum model founded on the infinite long plank material or partition the plank into equal width plank. But this model doesn't fit to double direction cut of the limited long and limited width plank. For the problem, this article brings forward to an whole optimum layout algorithm based on the improved polygon top algorithm. And analyze optimum layout problem of whole optimum with double opposite layout as a example. For the purpose of max number of cutting pattern, give the optimum layout model of the pattern and correspond algorithm. Besides this, this article introduces data manage function, this function improve the design efficiency, induce the period of design.The article realizes these researches in the Shoe CAD system that certificate the above algorithm. And optimal layout system have single row> double row> pair-wise single row layout and pair-wise double row layout types to satisfy various need.
