The Shoemaking industry is a traditional industry in our country. The output of shoes of China is the most in the world during passed five years. But because of low informatization level; the efficiency and design level of our shoemaking enterprises are very low, so they can not compete with the enterprises in developed countries. For improving their efficiency and design level, the object of this article is to design and realize a set of the parts of shoe's patterns CAD and optimal layout system. Base on the investigation, this article studies the vectiorization of the Image of shoe's patterns firstly, and then realizes automatic contraction and expansion with combining the handwork design and CG At last, the article realizes upper's optimal layout by bringing forward an improved algorithms to apex of polygon.In the first chapter, the article introduces the background of the research and what the author will do for the research.In the second chapter, the article brings forward the framework of the system, function module and the fig of data flow.In the third chapter, the article describes the vectiorization of the Image. Firstly it introduces the method of edge detection, and then brings forward the arithmetics of identifying edge critical point and deleting redundant inserting numerical point, so it can match the edge by NURBS.In the fourth chapter, the article brings forward the algorithm of automatic contraction and expansion using computer, and introduces the interface between the contraction and expansion module and the layout module.In the fifth chapter, based on the algorithm to apex of polygon, the article studies more algorithms to apex of polygon which correspond various layout methods and bring out a better algorithm to apex of polygon.In the sixth chapter, the article introduces the ShoeSmart system which designed and realized by author. This system consists of the functions of contraction and expansion, optimal layout and database management, which using the technologies described in anterior chapters.At last, the article summed up work that had been done and brings forward the improving work in the next stage, and presents a view of shoemaking CAD in the future.
