Embedded Tcp / Ip Communication Interface Hardware And Software Design

Following with development of network and computer, automatic measurement and test(ATM) system becomes networked gradually. 10M-Ethernet based on imbedded TCP/IP protocol stack, which is very popular in the recent years, has been broadly used in AMT field. In order to fusing old instruments into networked AMT system, this paper discussed the solution to conversion of Ethernet data and serial or parallel data. In this paper, according to communication technology of bus and interface in ATM system and its applications in the real world, the paper discussed of two aspects about the communication, one side of them is converting of Ethernet and serial communication; the other is conversion of Ethernet and parallel communication. Related with communication in ATM system, the project designed NC51 card, which included MCS51 as CPU, RTL8019AS as network interface controller, and two popular standard interfaces: RS232 and EPP, which software programmed with KeilC51 realized embedded protocol stack and conversion of different protocols and interfaces. The NC51 played a UDP server part of the whole test system. UDP client of the system in computer was programmed with Delphi. Server in NC51 card and client in computer were simplified as C/S mode system.The paper expounds the design and realization of some interface circuits about NC51 card in detail, involving protocol stack, data transformation of Ethernet and serial or parallel, UDP C/S mode communication, and problems on debugging the project and their solutions, and so on, and analyses the performance of the protocol stack.Linking many computers and various interface instruments with the NC51 card, and forming various network topology structures, the systems realize such functions as: data acquiring and processing, configuring andcontrolling remote instruments, which resolve the compatibility between old instruments and networked ATM system, utilize instruments hardware and network resources fully, reducing cost. It is quite practical and economic benefit.
