With the development of micro-electronics and digital image technology, Digitizing of X-ray Imaging which can quantify, transport, store, display and process images has been put into practice. This paper was based on the High-resolution X-ray Medical Sequential Image Acquisition & Processing System, which adopts Image Amplifier and CCD to digitize X-ray Medical Sequential Images. This system is composed of three modules, which are Sequential Image Acquisition, Data Transport and Image Processing.With its good performance in data transport, PCI interface is used to transport data. The images acquired by hardware are transported to PC through PCI bus and then, they are optimized by the Image Processing Software. PCI interface is developed by PCI9030RDK.-LITE of PLX Corporation. Software kits, which include PCI Device Driver and Image Processing Package, are developed with Visual C++6.0 Language.This paper starts with the running principle and procedure of X-ray Sequential Image Acquisition & Processing System. The emphasis of this paper is put on key problems of PCI Device Driver based on Windows OS. Then Image Processing Kit is described. In addition, the context, principle, status quo and the digitizing trend of X-ray Imaging are told succinctly.
