With the rapid development of computer science and technology, informationtechnology has been widely applied. In the field of traditional health, the development ofhospital information system is still in the primary stage, so hospitals will produce a lot ofpaper medical records and documents in the running process, trends in medicalinformation, requires manual processing of much paper document into digital images forconservation and management. Study on medical records document automation processingtechnology will have important significance.Digital image processing include image pretreatment, image segmentation andcropping, image matching and recognition, image transmission and storage. This majorstudy on image processing and image segmentation. Image pretreatment process includinga color image to grayscale, fuzzy image filtering, image processing and image binarizationprocessing. Image pretreatment process including a color image to grayscale, fuzzy imagefiltering, image burring processing and image binarization processing. Gray processingmainly uses the weighted average method, you can moderate brightness of grayscaleimages; spatial smooth filtering can weaken the noise of effects the image’s quality; imageblurring makes the image clearer, get information in the document easier; imagebinarization processing can obviously eliminate the effects of spots and the word in theback of image. Image segmentation process includes the tilt correction, and imagecropping. Image correction mainly achieved by edge detection and Hough transformations;it can correct the tilt of the image, image recognition more convenient; the cropping of theimage use adaptive threshold segmentation method mainly can remove the black edgesand crop the documents.we designed and developed the medical records image acquisition and processingsystem for automatic information processing of medical records and documents. After themedical records and documents are scanned into a digital image by imaging device, basedon the image processing process, the records image selected for the digital imageprocessing, to achieve the effects such as image denoising and fuzzy, remove black edgeand back words. The medical records information acquisition and processing system includes five modules: image reading module, image processing module, image correctionmodule, image segmentation and cutting module and image output storage module.Finally we gave the system test results, test results shows that after the image processingby the system, medical records and document images’ quality has greater improvement,complete image correction, image denoising and fuzzy, remove black edge and backwords perfectly, and the image processing’s speed at more than300Mb/h.The systemneed some improvement on image processing to increase the accuracy and rate.
