Image stitching technology is one of the most important research areas in information science, computer graphics technology and medical. It has a wide range of application in clinical diagnosis, treatment, preoperative planning. This Paper conducts a comprehensive analysis and summary about image stitching of the medical theories, methods and techniques, and focus on feature-based medical image registration and related fusion algorithm.For some X-ray medical imaging application, especially for orthopedic, doctor often wants to get a complete upper and lower limbs X-ray image, or a complete image of the spin. As the X-ray imaging device has a limited size, only to do multiple imaging captures to get a lager size of image. It is essential to convert multiple images into a complete image through post-processing.In this paper, for the characteristics of medical images, through summarizing the current image stitching technique, four different medical image stitching solutions will be summarized, and image stitching result and performance for four different ways of stitching image will be analyzed and summarized. Through getting an effective integration of the algorithms, such as image stitching, image fusion, image noise reduction, image enhancement and image global equalization, ultimately forms a complete solution of medical image stitching.
