With the advance and development of technology and economy, the traditional manual-operation mode to process information can not meet the requirement of enterprise modernization management. Using computer-based management information system is one of the effective approaches to elevate the management level and economic benefit of an enterprise.In this thesis, the development and application of the Management Information System of Chongqing Chang'an Design Research Academy (CAMIS) has been studied. Firstly, the requirements of CAMIS have been analyzed. On this basis, the architecture and functions of CAMIS have been presented and the functional models and information models of CAMIS have been built up. Then the software and hardware platform for developing CAMIS has been constructed and the database application software has been developed. In the research and development of CAM IS, according to the practical need of Chongqing Chang'an Design Research Academy, some key techniques have been research and implemented. For example, the technique of dynamical management of work schedule has been presented and implemented, by which the due-date of schedule management has been increased and the economic lose due to the schedule delay has been decreased. Besides in the CAMIS, the finance and costs management through out the engineering design processes, the project management combining with personnel management and the computerized documentation-management have been implemented.The CAMIS has been applied in the enterprise and effective results have been shown. The application results indicate that the initial objectives of CAMIS have been realized. The efficiency and quality of business processing, overall management level and economic benefits of Chongqing Chang'an Design Research Academy have been increased and the business progress of the enterprise has been greatly enhanced.
