The Jinhang Network Performance Monitoring Study

Under the background of the project "Gold Aviation Network Management and Performance Optimizing" , we've developed a distributed network performance monitoring system with .the Simple Network Management Protocol(SNMP) as the main technology after studied the condition of modern network management and its promising directions.A polling layer is presented in this thesis after a detailed research on the analysis of SNMP and network data collecting technology in order to minimize the traditional management triffic. This polling layer includes several data collecting strategies and the experiment of simulation shows its good performance.Traditional and modern network management models are all discussed in details too.Then a distributed agent based WBM(Web Based Management) model is proposed. According to the characteristics of network data collecting, a static database and a dynamic database are individually designed with Mysql and RRDtool, which gives a good solution for historical data storage and management.In addition, network performance analysis and optimizing is other important part of this thesis. Some discussions about analyzing network performance with algorithms such as "Critical Path" are given in this part.
