Research And Development. Snmp-based Network Element Management System

As the computer network has extremely grown over in recent years, single conventional network management model is not adapted to modern networks. Logical layered architecture based on SNMP combines advantages of TMN and SNMP, meets the challenge of modem management. Network element management is the foundation of layered management, but current network management systems are lack of supports to element management.This paper introduced the basic concept of EMS based on SNMP and its great significance. According the requirement of EMS, we introduced a description of network element using SNMP. According the characteristic of network device and element management, we designed the implement architecture of element management system based SNMP. This paper expatiated the system by Information collection, Graphical management and Intelligent events handling.Information collection collects the requisite information of the managed element; Graphical management implements GUI to operate the element; Intelligent events handling handles the events automatically. In order to analyze the event correlation, this paper introduced a modal based on Directed Acyclic Probability-Correlation Graph to allocate the source event.The Network Element Management System Based SNMP had been applied to manage YH Routers.
