Guangzhou local transmission resource management system meets with the need of Guangzhou Telecom development. It is a unified agility integrative management system that can deal with all the transmission equipment, including the now and the future. It is made of four subsystems: equipment system, optical cable system, circuit system and transmission failure system. They manage the resource of optical cable, equipment, transmission path, and so on. The whole system is based on the equipment and optical cable subsystem. The resource management system adopted relation database and CIS (ie. Geographic Information System) technique to achieve all functions, and it manages date with centralization mode. All the information is built in the same database. At the same time, the foregrounding interface of the four subsystems is different, and different user can access the information with different data-operating purview, use some universal function and share some same data. This system has some specialty like: 1.for GIS technique, it can manage transmission network graphically, display resource distributing clearly; 2. with the class-template and rule-base technique, it can adapt the now-using and the coming equipment; 3.providing a variety of report forms, it can help administrator an maintenance person to control the whole transmission network status with different angle; 4.with the ameliorated auto and half-auto path configuration arithmetic, it can improve the network under-control efficiency and intelligence. This system was placed on probation on Oct. 2001. With the integrated test and real data running, its function and capability achieve design desire fully. It can brandish the transmission network operating, maintenance, and management.
