Short Message Center In The Mobile Communication Network Design And Implementation

SMS(Short Message Service)as we all know is a messaging service that allows sendingand receiving messages to mobile phones. SMC(Short Message Center) is the entity which stores and forwards Short Messages .The design and implementation of a Short Message Center are reported in this paper.The Short Message Center mainly includes: SM protocol module, Forward signal module, Main memory database module, SMPP module and so on. First of all, it introduces running environment, functions and key techniques of the Short Message Center. In addition to introducing No7 Signaling System, it discusses the design and implementation of the Forward signal module. SM protocol module is the core of the Short Message Center. Finite State Machine, Client/Server, SOCKET are used in the design of this module, as well as multi threads. In addition this paper brings forward and implements Logic Process and Logic Timer. Most of the Short Message Centers use commercial database, such as ORACLE and SQL Server, to store userinfos and short messages. A specialized main memory database system used for real-time message process is presented in this paper. In the early future, the usage of Short Message will be more extensive, especially in e-business field. Therefore this paper describes the structure and design of several application systems based on short message.The Short Message Center and application systems presented in this paper have been put into service in mobile communications network.
