The technique used for hign-speed and large volume data transmission working with 64-bit,66MHz PCI Bus is studied in this paper.The features of PCI Local Bus,signal definition,command definition, bus operation and the addendum of the PCI Local Bus Specification,Revision2.3 are introduced briefly at first.Then the structure and function of PLX PCI 9656 PCI Bus Mastering I/O Accelerator are summarized including :PCI 9656's three data transfer modes(Direct Master,Direct Slave,and DMA)and Direct connection to three processor Local Bus types(M mode,C mode.J mode).The main task of this paper is to design the hign speed data sending out and receiving modules .First the desing scenario and desing target of this paper is provided,then the structure and application of the PCI based data transferring modules is discussed in detail including the steps of the FPGA's application and simulation are given out .Some valuable skills for PCB design are presented ,some methods to improve the performance of this subsystym and other mean to implement the design work are also provided .In succession ,the realising method of device driver of the data transferring add_in card based on PCI Bus under the Windows 2000 system is presented ,as well as the configration to the Serial EEPROM which used to config the PCI 9656 .
