In this paper the theory and design of millimeter wave low noise integrated receiver front-end is discussed.First is a general introduction of characteristics of millimeter wave and its development. In addition, millimeter wave integrated circuit (MIC) is presented. Two main integrated circuit techniques are compared include the hybrid and monolithic. The motive of this millimeter wave receiver front-end is also given.Chapter 2 is about planar passive circuits interested. Based on the theory of microstrip planar circuit, a sector-shaped circuit configuration is proposed for designing planar power dividers that are compatible with microstrip circuit. This configuration is analyzed by using the two-dimensional planar circuit approach. Expressions for impedance matrix parameters of three-way 90?sector power divider are given. Then, a waveguide to microstrip probe transition is analyzed and simulated with HPHFSS.Chapter 3 introduces millimeter wave solid devices include amplifiers, mixers, FET doubler and PIN SPST. These circuits are fundamental cells consist of millimeter wave integrated receiver front-end.In the last chapter, on the basis of above work, the millimeter wave radar low noise integrated receiver front-end is realized consist of 3-way SPST switches, LNAs, mixers, doublers, IF amplifiers, divider, probe transition and bias circuits, all in 70x45x15mm3. The configuration is low-cost, compact and lightweight, suitable for many uses.
