This dissertation is mainly on the theory and design of millimeter-wave solid state receiver front-end, the research and develop of 60GHz receiver front-end is accomplished. First is a general introduction of millimeter-wave and its characteristics. It also gives the motive of this 60GHz millimeter-wave solid state receiver front-end associated with the subject's requirement and the realistic conditions, according to which a proposal is confirmed that 60GHz harmonic Gunn oscillator and single balanced mixer fulfill the simplest receiver front-end. In chapter 2, based on the basic theory of gunn oscillator, it analyses the harmonic gunn oscillator. Chapter 3 introduces the basic theory of millimeter-wave mixer. In chapter 4, on the basis of above work, the 60GHz millimeter-wave solid state receiver front-end is realized. At 13mW LO drive, this mixer achieves 17dB conversion loss at 56.6GHz with an IF frequency of 3.4GHz. |
