This dissertation is mainly on the theory and design of millimeter-wave integrated receiver front-end.Chapter 1 is a survey on millimeter-wave technology,millimeter-wave planar integrated transmission lines and millimeter-wave integrated circuit(MIC).The motive of this millimeter-wave intergrated receiver front-end is also given in this chapter. In chapter 2,a waveguide-to-microstrip transition is analysis with the empirical formula ,the complete design formula and data presented in this dissertation. Then,a three-way power divider circuits using circular-sector-shaped planar components is designed. In chapter 3,First, an analysis for the design of the millimeter-wave low noise transistor amplifier; The second, theory and technique of mixer are discussed; The third discussed the PIN diode and switch circuits. In chapter 4,first,By discussing Gunn diode and varactor characteristic and oscillator,we realize a Ka band VCO and the experiment results are presented;Second,an discussion for the frequency-drafting of VCO is made, and temperature-controlled circuit and voltage-stabilized dircuit are designed. In chapter 5,on the basis of above work, the millimeter-wave radar receiver front-end is realized consist of 3-way SPST switches, LNAs, mixers,IF amplifiers, divider, and bias circuits. The end, experiment results are presented.
