Research And Implementation Of Web-based Cam Key Technologies

With the fast development of computer and network technologies, especially of the Internet/Intranet, profound innovations are turning up in the area of the manufacturing industry which is developing towards the direction of high-automation, high-intelligence, high-integration and high-networked increasingly. In the future one important development of manufacturing industry is to make full use of network technologies, especially the Internet/Intranet, to achieve the goal of the global manufacturing, that is to say, the manufacturing resources can be shared in most platforms of computers and most areas in the world.The integration of Web and CAD/CAM technology is one important developing direction of the CAD/CAM system. Based on the author's work on research and development of Web-based CAD/CAM system, this paper puts emphasis on the key technique of implementation of Web-based CAM system. The architecture, function assignment and software development of CAM system under Web environment are researched and discussed. At the same time, the author designs and realizes a prototype system of WebCAM using Java technology, which accumulates rich experiences for the future research.
