Based on actual engineering projects, the paper analyzes the present situation in controlling system of the constant pressure irrigation system. Traditional irrigation controlling system is used to control the pressure at the exit of a pump. The new constant pressure controller designed in this paper controls the terminals of branch irrigation system. Since it is difficult to model an accurate irrigation network system, its time lag takes place severely. Even though modelling can be set up, it is still hard to control this system. The traditional PID controlling does no better job. Now, the paper adopts a fuzzy control system for the irrigation network. The paper expounds the necessary software and hardware for the controller as well as the strategy for the fuzzy control system. In order to proof the accuracy arithmetically, I developed a simulation program in VC++ to compare the new controlling system with the two frequently used traditional ones in the irrigation system. The new constant pressure controller for irrigation system is used to control the terminal pressure (at the terminals of the branch pipes), and it can more effectively convert the frequencies of the moters. thus energy can be saved.
