Wap Gateway Function Analysis And Design

With the dramatic success of wireless mobile communications, the convergence between Internet and mobile communications is becoming a new growing point in IT domain. As a way of realization, WAP, which is suitable for implementation in existing wireless network with less bandwidth and hin?clients, grows up quickly in the past two years. As the key equipment in WAP application, WAP Gateway makes the traditional Internet and wireless domain connected together. After simply introducing the WAP application model and its protocol stack, we analyze the functions of WAP gateway in this paper. Through thoroughly and systematacially studying the main domestic and overseas products in this field, and using the implementation of TCP/IP protocol stack for reference and analysis for the machenism and principle of the WAP gateway protocol, we present our design scheme and implement the main funcitonal module-- the protocol conversion.
