The Research And Implementation Of Conversion Gateway For IPv4/IPv6 Based On NAT-PT

The current Internet maining employs the structure of TCP/IP protocol,IPv4 protocol is supported on the network layer. IPv4 is not enough to support the need of application ,the IPv6 will replace the IPv4 network protocol,so the IPv4 and IPV6 coexistence will appear.The conversion gateway will implement the direct commnunication for the IPv4 and IPv6 node,it mostly use NAT-PT SIIT technique.The conversion gateway mainly employs four kinds of technique:protocol translation for IPv4 and IPv6 , network address translation of IPv4 and IPv6, application layer protocol translation, transport layer protocol interface problem involved in network layer protocol translation.the paper will discuss this .The thesis has done the following works: analyzing the essential theory of IPv6 protocol group with comparing the difference of IPv4 and IPv6 protocol;discussing the FTP, DNS protocol used in the gateway;research of the transition scheme from IPv4 to IPv6 .designing and implementing an IPv4/IPv6 conversion gateway based on study of the basic theory of the gateway;with experiment, testing the functions of conversion gateway, achieving the requirement of network communication.and lastly expecting the future research.
