Based On Data Warehouse Decision Support System Research And Application

Combining the real subject of life insurance decision support system DecisionPro, the paper introduced data warehouse's basic concept, attribute, data manipulation and metadata which played an important role in the data warehouse theory. Compared the merit and shortcoming of the traditional DSS which based on OLTP environment, DSS system solution that based on data warehouse was discussed.In co-ordination with the author's accomplishment in data extraction and maintenance sub-module, the paper looked into the solution selection, function division and modules design. Specially, the paper presented the creating of dimension table, fact table of multi-dimension data model, analyzed the construction of data model, data extraction and data maintenance tools. The function and implement of OLAP and EIS web controls were also recommended briefly. DecisionPro also offered a valuable reference model for resemble system.Finally, taking advantage of domain engineer, the paper studied the system model, construction method which promoted DecisionPro to other society insurances such as property insurance, medical insurance, and so on.
