This paper is based on the reliability theory and the characters of the solid rocket motor (SRM). With the theory and methods of the reliability engineering, we made deep analyse and research on the structural design of SRM. At the same time ,we colligated general math models and solving methods of reliability which are on using now .All of the models and methods have been compared and analysed. With the help of practical experience, the software of computer aided design (CAD) on the SRM structural reliability engineering has been worked out.The design of the SRM structural reliability is a process with continual mendding and continual feedback. During the process of the exploitation of the software, we made a general view of all the basic projects and methods. Optimization and system recommendation with the practical experience had also been involved.The reliability test, data disposal, distribution verification, reliability forecast and distribution, structural reliability design of the SRM accessory, reliability evaluation and reliability imitation are all involved in the structure reliability design. All the aspects have been discussed in this paper and almost all the functions have been realized by the CAD software. At last, the software is used to make a total reliability computer aided design to a certain SRM assembled to missile. With the analysis of reliability, weaknesses have been found and the direction of the ameliorations has also been pointed out. The result turns up trumps .The software has certain value of engineering application.
