Informationization Technology for Manufacturing is a necessary choice for the enterprises to improve their capabilities of innovation and market competition. ASP (Application Service Provider) provides corporations all kind of software functionality over the Internet or a private network for a fee, the new informationization service mode based on Internet is a good scheme for both manufacturing enterprises and information service trade. Because of this background, the paper carries out some exploring researches in ASP technology.In this paper, Combining the subject of the Manufacture informationization of Liaoning, the concept the provided services the operation mode and various kinds of commercial modes of ASP and the technologies of Web services have been discussed, especially some existing basic framework of ASP. Analyzing the function of the service platform, the ASP service process has been presented and the model of ASP service platform has been established. After comparing the similarities and differences between Microsoft.NET and J2EE, the author makes the choice of using Microsoft.NET in this paper, and makes further introduction to the products of SilverStream eXtend? based on J2EE standard, proposes a kind of design plan of ASP platform system structure, a simple ASP platform has been established and an application instance of mechanical manufacturing CAD/CAE based on ASP platform has been developed. In the instance, the author designs three main modules and their functions: the module of clients, the module of administrators and the module of designers. An example is given to show the running process of the developed software system and the results. The feasibility of development method and the practicality of the software have been proved. In order to test the instance, the author has imitated the running. Besides, The author has done deep research about the development prospect and trend of ASP, all the author has done will lay a solid foundation and be a helpful trying for the further discussion and research of ASP.The work of the paper is a beneficial attempt research in ASP. The obtained results have theoretical and practical significance in promoting ASP technology research accelerating the spread and application of ASP technology. The developed software has important reference value in establishing ASP application service system.
