Information Sharing In Group Decision Support System Technology Research

First, the paper introduced its background - coming from one project. In the project, we had data files formatted or saved in different languages or systems. In many cases, we need integrate all data into a whole system for convenient data management. Thus, problems of sharing data or changing data formats in different systems occurred. Most data files used in programs are saved by means of ASCII or Binary. The latter can be changed into ASCII file. We can change ASCII file or Text file into database file such as .dbf file or .db file etc. easily and vice versa. How about the heterogeneous database files? How to access other database files in a specific development tool or database management system? That is to share data among heterogeneous database management systems. We can use middleware to mask different internal implementation of various DBMS, different platforms and different protocols, etc. The paper discussed various middleware and suggested their features. Then, it came back to ASMIDAS. In order to describe methods adopted in the ASMIDAS system clearly, it analyzed the architecture and the implementation principle of ASMIDAS and gave its key data structures. Finally, it took two examples to illustrate how the theory works in the project ASMI])AS.
