Nowadays Internet is becoming a more and more important role in our daily life, by which any information could be shared all over the world with little cost.So we can put those rearrangement pedigree data to internet, let oversea alien look up their pedigree more convenient and faster.Comparing with presently other pedigree websites, our system is supported by a strong background multimedia database and has several characteristic query methods. It integrates various of dynamic query technologies of multi-conditions combination query,electric map navigating query, family name navigating query, family tree navigating query,etc. Background Pedigree database can self-expanded during interactive operating with web users time after time.This paper discusses the features and technologies of the web-based multimedia pedigree database system. Our study emphasized on the next several aspects:1.The Whole architecture of the system. Which is Based on browse/server schema. According to the design objective of the system, the author gives the hierarchy designing scheme and working flow, then introduces the accessing technology of web database ,and points out feature and creativity of the paper.2.Design and realization of the multimedia pedigree database.The paper discusses designing steps of the pedigree database, gives a data model and introduces improvement and optimization based on it. The database supports image,video and other mediamedia data well.3.Implementation of the pedigree database maintenance system. The system includes two parts: One is based on C/S structure, orients DBA, is for the general. The other is based on B/S structure, orients web user, is for the user pedigree database maintenance.The system applies kinds of multimedia processing technology, and can handle multimedia data of the pedigree database.4.Establishment of web server and the pedigree website.In this part,the paper explains how to arranging llS to optimize performances of web server.Then it gives the general architecture of pedigree website , its contents , realization technologies etc.5.Technologies of Web query and Dynamic web pages. The paper explains how to enhance performances of asp program, realizing dynamic query principle and procedures by using asp. Finally the paper gives algotithms of several query methods.
