Nowadays, the quantity of data in most companies is growing up. It is doubled every12 to 18 months, The same situation happens in Text-Information. Un-formattedText-Information can not be managed by computers. So these Text-Information should beformatted. Database is a mature and standard type of Text-Information.Commonly, Database is used in colleges. At the same time, there are more and morestudents and staff in every college. And the quantity of data which should be managed bydatabase seems very huge! Meanwhile lots of problems appear, such as the consistency, the synchronization and the method of managing data. Those key problems exert a greatinfluence on colleges' MIS.The main contribution in the thesis can be summarized as follows:Firstly, introduces the conception of Distributed Database System(DDBS). Especiallystudies the key characteristics of DDBS-Fragmentation, Distdbution and DistributedTransaction, for example.Secondly, studies the 3-layer developing method. Introduces its advantage and thecharacteristics.Thirdly, designs a replication model which is based on the Distributed DatabaseSystem. This model can mostly solve the problems of consistency and synchronization. Itis based on BeiJing Language and Culture University(BLCU).Fourthly, using the 3-layer developing method on the .NET platform, designs anapplication for BLCU.This system can not only be put in practice in colleges but also in companies andother kinds of organizations. It's a representative system.
