Along with significant developments of science and technology ,and the coming of information era ,the transmission of information is becoming more and more important . Optical-fiber ,as one of transmitting media ,has a lot of advantages that cannot be substituted . High-capacity and wide-bandwidth and strong anti-jamming are its characteristics . However, its progress is limited by loss and dispersion in the optical-fiber . The way to acquire long-distance transmission is to increase optical power ,but doing like that can cause nonlinearities in optical fiber.Several important nonlinearites was presented in this paper ,such as Stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) Stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) Self-phase modulation (SPM),Cross-phase modulation (XPM),Kerr and Soliton . Finally ,this paper discussed the development and perspectives of these nonlinearities in optical-fiber .
