Information Technology Equipment - Electromagnetic Compatibility Testing

Electromagnetic interference (EMI) is a serious and increased environment polluted mode, and has the influence from the tired noise which is produced by broadcasting to the deathful accidents which are brought by the breakdown of control systems that are of great importance to safety. Different forms of EMI can lead to electric and electronic malfunctions, disturb the natural use of radio spectrum, ignite flammable gas or other dangerous gas, and even produce direct effect to human body’s apparatus.The definition of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) is that a device, equipment or system can work normally in its electromagnetic environment and doesn’t bring EMI which any other affairs in its environment can’t be tolerant of. It contains two meanings: the first one is that it describes the capability that operating electric and electronic systems don’t disturb the other systems; the second one is that it depicts the capability that these systems can operate prospectively in the special electromagnetic environment; i.e. two aspects of EMI and EMS.This paper mainly describes information technology equipment need to EMI testing and EMS testing as passing EMC testing, the methods of testing, necessary testing equipment and environment has been introduced, and it was discussed that this equipment necessarily meet standard demand in order to pass EMC testing. To give a scientific testing result, Uncertainty of testing results also were evaluated lastly.,In these methods of testing, based on principle of reappearing operating status of tested equipment, and these methods simulates environment and state of actual operating in terms of layout, grounding, filter and shielding of equipment, thereby these test results could reflect really EMC status of tested equipment, and provide the true and reliable data to further update of tested equipment.In process of writing this paper, we have demonstrated the whole test methods through testing actual equipment, in order to meet the goal of testing used to demonstrate testing method. It has been acquired excellent effect and achieved anticipative the goal by long-term testing.
