With the increasing of digital circuits operating frequency and scale of integration, the EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility, EMC) become more prominent. EMC design can not be ignored as a part of PCB design and problems of modern electronic technology. This paper studies the generation mechanism of SSN (Simultaneous Switching Noise, SSN),using EBG (Electromagnetic Band Gap, EBG) to inhibit the SSN, and study the signal integrity problems of EBG, provide a reference for EMC design in PCB.The main work of full text contains:(1)Study the generation mechanism of chip SSN and off-chip SSN, the spectrum of SSN is analyzed, commonly measures to reduce the SSN is proposed. Effect of adding decoupling capacitors for SSN suppression was analyzed.(2)The common methods of SSN suppression were studied to compare their advantages and disadvantages.(3)Study on the use of EBG structure (Electromagnetic Band Gap, EBG) to inhibited SSN and design of two new EBG structure to achieve a new range of noise suppression.(4)Straight channel EBG power plane is analyzed and study the equivalent circuit of chip unit.(5)The simulation result proves that decoupling capacitors can be added to improve EBG power plane noise suppression performance of low-frequency.(6)Simulation of the PCB signal integrity with EBG,in order to improve signal integrity of EBG we need to add reference planes.
