Teaching Report

This essay takes China Youth Daily as the object of study, discusssing the current situation, problems and the reasons of the voluntary teaching reports by analysis on reports of Postgraduate Teaching Assistance Programme since 1999, and then find the production system of it. The article begins from the status of voluntary teaching reports and then, takes content analysis in number, genre, theme of the reports and so on. From 1999 to 2014, China Youth Daily reported a total of 77 articles of Postgraduate Teaching Assistance Programme, with the trend of gradual growth. These reports give priority to dispatch, text news, typical character with positive and neutral attitude. In the way of reporting, this paper presents three ways such as independent report, report dependent on other’s article and so on. According to the analysis, this paper finds out the overall situation of voluntary teaching reports.Problems of the news report are found after the content analysis. The most prominent issues are trens of modeling and infringement such like modeling theme, modeling writing style, modeling news pictures, intrusion into right of privacy, infringement of portrait rights and so on. The essay also lists the reasons on the basis of reporting analysis, interviews and my own experience. The first reason is the theme of the report boud by the concept, including concept of propaganda, concept of seeking sale and stereotype. The second reason is oversight of some steps in news production, including the lack of feedback mechanism and unprofessional reporter’s report. The last reason is the lack of supervision caused by far distance.Finally, some improvement measures are put forward according to the analysis above. To change the trend of modeling and infringement, the paper suggests changing report concept and standardizing process of news production. To be specific, the suggestions include deepening the significance of typical repote, recording voluntary teaching life objectively by going to the teaching palce, innovating forms of report, more vocational training and so on. In addition, the article also suggests to change report forms, genres and themes according to the change of the new media and voluntary teaching career. Last but not least, the paper recomends multiple perspective news for report of voluntary support teaching to be a reference.
