A Study On Investigative Report Of The Beijing News

Investigative report,which was born in the West in the late 19 th and early 20 th century,is one of the branches of in-depth report,and its core lies in revealing the truth.China is in the period of transition in recent years.Under this background,the importance of investigative report as a faithful “mirror” which can reflect the current social problems has become more and more prominent.In the past,the related research mainly focused on the origin,development,characteristics and present condition of investigative reports.Most research focused on the overall situation of domestic investigative report.The main object of case study are television programs,financial media,new media and Party newspaper.Few scholars have studied the practical characteristics of investigative report in urban media.Among the numerous domestic media,the investigative report of “The Beijing News” is well-developed,widely received and influential,so it is representative.For these reasons,this research selects the investigative report of “The Beijing News” as a research sample,the characteristics of its topics,interviews and writing are comprehensively analyzed,and the experience and shortcomings are summarized.Further researches concerning the future development direction of investigative report in urban newspaper,hoping to provide reference for the practice of other domestic media.The study shows that the investigative report of “The Beijing News” has a wide range of topics,dares to choose sensitive topics,and has a strong sense of public opinion supervision.The proportion of negative tone reports is extremely high,the conflict framework is often used,and the overall style is tough.In the interview process,undercover interviews such as undercover and unannounced visits are often used,which makes the investigation more thorough.Picture type is rich,contains a large amount of information,and breaks the layout restriction of newspapers by using two-dimensional code.In the aspect of writing,the investigative report of “The Beijing News” mostly chooses the focused structure which can show the reporter's investigation process.Its internal logic is meticulous,with a strong dialectical relationship between the various materials,and the opinions are relatively balanced.Most titles are single-line compound declarative titles,which have strong tension and are good at using numbers to highlight contradictions.The main body of the report shows three main features.First,it is readable,contains accurate data,and can choose a close-in perspective.Second,it has a strong human touch,focusing on showing the human emotional world and promoting human dignity.Third,it has a rich narrative technique and is good at setting suspense,white drawing is often used.This article maintains that the investigative report of “The Beijing News” brings the following revelations to domestic urban media: firstly,the core competence should be built by the depth of the content,sothat the traditional media can achieve breakthroughs under the strong impact of the new media;Secondly,urban media should assume social responsibilities,strengthen the consciousness of supervision and give full play to the warning function.Finally,urban media should adhere to professionalism,and reestablish the public trust in media.In addition,in the production process of the investigative report,“The Beijing News” has given sufficient financial support,attached importance to the preservation of evidence,had a strong sense of copyright,and built a team of high-quality investigative journalists.These experiences can be used for reference.At the same time,the research finds that there are still some shortcomings in the investigative report of “The Beijing News”,such as poor timeliness,homogenization of topics,and ambiguous sources of information,which should be corrected in future practice.Based on the research of investigative report of “The Beijing News”,this paper considers the future development of urban media's investigative reports and puts forward three strategies: First,they should adapt to the current rhythm of news production,actively apply new technologies,and form linkages with new media.Second,they should enhance interaction with readers,pay attention to the needs of readers,and monitor readers' feedback.Third,they should further strengthen the concept of solutions journalism,and try to propose constructive solutions while revealing the problems.
