| The SATA (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment) is a kind of high-speed serial bus developed from the PATA (Parallel Advanced Technology Attachment).Relative to the PATA,the SATA bus has got more and more applications to be the main hard drive interface bus in the market because the interface is simple,which support hot-swappable and provide higher data transmission rate with much more reliable data transmission.The subject complete the design of SATA Host Controller IP core based on detailed analysis of SATA â…¡ protocol specification.According to the SATA protocol, the SATA controller is implemented by four layers,including physical layer, link layer, transport layer and command layer.Each level is implemented by hardware description language after dividing the modules,then we can connect all the modules to complete the design of the IP core.SATA â…¡ host controller IP core designed in this paper is highly integrated, lower cost and ease of use.During the design of the IP core,the functional simulation of the modules are implemented by Modelsim.Then using the logic analyzer Chipscope pro to debug the design.At last,the controller is running correctly and meet the requirements of the SATA protocol specification by the plate test results. |
