In recent years, with the development of aerospace research, especially in small UAV aerial photography areas, the requirement of the image storage system become more and more higher,in order to solve problem the image data generated by the detector of high-performance real-time,high-speed storage, and the image storage system development from the previous multi-machine system to portable and higher degree of integration of the system on a chip.In this thesis,it choose an suitable for use as a portable image storage media SATA interface hard disk,it is relative to the existing storage media. It has a large capacity, high transfer rate,inexpensive,power-down data is not lost, and many other advantages. This paper focuses on the physical layer and link layer of the protocol, analysis the implementation process of SATA2.0 protocol, and build state machines. Then it analyzes the characteristics of resources Kintex-7 FPGA family, and the use of hard-core GTX chip to complete the design of the physical layer, according to the agreement to build a state machine, write Verilog modules to implement various link layer, and a simulation test. Finally, the test is on the Kintex-7 development board platform, basically meeting the requirements SATA2.0 protocol. The rate can up to 250 MB /s.Currently SATA2.0 protocol has been widely applied in the field of computer storage, but in the domestic does littleresearch imaging systems and image storage system integration, therefore, the use of FPGA implementation SATA2.0 protocol portable image storage system is of great significance and can develop this system to a higher-generation protocol,so it has a very important project value.
