Mutual integration of wireless sensor networks and the Internet can bring innovation and vitality for all kinds of i mportant areas. The key point of m utual integration is gateway device. Gateway de vice enables a s eamless integration of WSN and Internet. Research on the gateway device is necessary, which helps WSN application in intell igent agriculture, industrial cont rol, smart home, environmental monitoring, telemedicine, security and other fields. Especially in the field of intelligent agriculture, the dem and for re al-time monitoring, remote control, event alert, data management, human-computer interaction has becom e increasingly prom inent. Implement these requirements need to rely on the gateway device as a support.This paper introduces th e subject background and related technologies, illus trates the significance of research in the gateway sy stem, and expounded the overall framework and key technologies of WSN gateway designs. This paper adopts ARMs3c6410 as the gateway’ s core processor, then designs the overall structure and associated expansion circuit of the gateway’s hardware to build the gateway’s hardware platform. Build a softw are platform for the specific dem ands of the WSN gateway, including build the necessary cross-com piler environment, design the corresponding boot-loader for hardware platform, configuration embedded Linux kernel, make the root file system, and sequentially programmed to the gateway hardware platform which has been successfully built. Then design the application layer based on the built software and hardware platform, including coordinator serial procedures, build Web servers and databases to achieve a seam less integration of WSN and Internet, m eet the user ’s demand for real-time monitoring and remote control.
