ZigBee-based Wireless IP Gateway Technology Research

The Internet of Things is considered as the third wave of informati-on industry, following computer and the Internet. With the presence of "Perceiving China" and "Wisdom Earth" national strategic issues, Internet of Things technology will make great impact on the whole country's society and economy, and even the future of mankind's way of life. ZigBee is an important technology of the Internet of Things. ZigBee has a wide range of application prospects in many fields, such as energy management, electronic products, computer peripherals, medical care and so on, and it has become a hot spot of research and application.Connected with the Internet, the ZigBee node can be controlled everywhere all over the world, and that will conducive to further development of ZigBee technology. Through the media of ZigBee gateway and Internet, different monitoring areas around the world can share information, which greatly reduces the time and space distance away from the world. The ZigBee-based wireless IP gateway is designed to achieve the connection of the ZigBee network and the Internet.The gateway uses SmartArm2200 development platform, adopts the embedμC/OS-Ⅱoperating system and LwIP stack. ZigBee nodes use TI's CC2430 chip. The gateway consists of three modules, the communication module within the ZigBee network, gateway's ZigBee network communication module, and gateway's Internet communication module. Star network topology is chosen in the communication module within ZigBee network, gateway's ZigBee network communication module is implemented by UART port, the solution that based on C/S structure, making the gateway as server, using Select module is proposed in gateway's Internet communication module, design ideas and implement solutions are given in each module. The tests of each communication module and whole gateway are carried out, results show that gateway can achieve the communication between ZigBee node and the Internet, the gateway has good practicability.
