In the process of traditional soil moisture monitoring, it is often complicated and inconvenient. Such as the staff will find the wiring is really difficult in complex terrain environment. In addition, the traditional way has a lack of timeliness, and it is hard to achieve real-time monitoring. This paper presents a wireless monitoring system for soil moisture. The system uses wireless communication technology, eliminates the complicated environment influence on soil moisture monitoring. At last successfully achieved the purpose of real-time monitoring data. This system can be divided into detection terminal and monitoring terminal, both of which are use microcontroller AT89S52 as their controller chips. Between two terminals, we use wireless transceiver module nRF905 for transmitting data information, detection terminal receives the soil moisture signal by YL-69-type soil moisture sensor. After processing, soil moisture signal are transmitted to the monitoring terminal; Monitoring terminal receives the wireless information, through the LCD1602 module and alarm module realizes the man-machine dialogue and alarm function. The detection terminal of this system use the solar power supply, it greatly reduces the power consumption of the whole system. The whole structure of soil moisture monitoring system is simple. It not only costs low, but also energy-saving and environment-friendly. Therefore, we successfully achieve the design requirements.
