| Since crop growth is inseparable from soil and water, it's significant to study the measurement and forecasting techniques of soil moisture content. China is a water-scarce country, agricultural drought and water shortage has constrained the economic and social development. Water-saving irrigation is an effective way to solve the problem.ARM processor-based handheld devices, has been widely used, such as cell phones, MP3, vehicle positioning system. However, the use of very few in agriculture, the task to develop an ARM processor-based handheld device, you can achieve soil moisture information collection, storage and sending, collecting information through GPRS network transmission to the monitoring network servers, and can transmit instructions to the server through the server to realize the control of irrigation facilities to achieve effective control of soil moisture.Firstly, this paper analysis commonly used detection techniques, and soil moisture monitoring model, then proposed a new model of monitoring and forecasting based on large number of ancestors'research results. Secondly, the AQUA-TEL-TDR soil moisture sensor is used to sample the signal of soil water content, the s3c2410 processor is used as the basis of the hardware platform, and a 320 * 240 LCD touch screen is applied as the user terminal which link to the center server by GPRS model. As the software side, the research includes compiling U-boot, cutting the operating system kernel, making root file system, developing the drivers of the devices, and designing the user interface. The Modbus/Tcp control protocol is adopted for wireless communications. Finally, this paper provides a practical result and analyses the existing deficiencies, proposed the future work of improvement ideas. |
