As one of the most popular type in today’s TV market, traveling TV show has experienced a certain development in our country. However, under the commercial and business environment, which lead the homogeneity and vulgarization trend of TV show, make few excellent traveling TV show exist. Innovation, has become the inevitable way for a good TV show to stand out. How can a TV show make innovation and breakthrough with ensuring the quality? What factors will be need for successful innovation? These are problems must be considered in innovating Traveling TV show.Hong Kong developed the TV industry in an early time, and has the skillfully TV production, which means a lot of experience accumulated in this area is worth us to study. In 2006, a Hong Kong TV station --Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB), made an excellent traveling show ON THE ROAD. The show, won a good reputation in the TV market with its unique way of writing and the humanities. Even today, after nearly a decade, this show still left a deep impression to the audience.The success of ON THE ROAD can be attributed to the concept of producing and the way of creating, it made reasonable positioning and the appropriate improvement on TV travel show, accurate grasping of audience’s internal demand, all these elements main leading ON THE ROAD a huge success. Based on this, this paper will use the theory of the Angle, communication, aesthetics, film and television science and literature study, case study method, theory with practice method, comparative analysis and other research methods to do an all-round multi-level study on this traveling show. By analyzing its merits and shortcomings, to provide a reference sample for the traveling TV show producing in the domestic market.
