This study is the first to map the news coverage on Internet Events in China by using the core concept "agenda diversity". Specifically, it adopts four dimensions of agenda diversity including internal diversity, external diversity, nominal diversity and attribute diversity to demonstrate the characteristics of Internet Events news across different regions and news paradigms. The results show that newspapers in China have generally incorporated Internet Events into daily news production, however, the extent of incorporation differs across both region and news paradigm. Secondly, developed regions show higher internal diversity than underdeveloped ones while market-oriented newspapers outweigh party media. Concerning external diversity, the newspapers display a high level of diversity. News coverage on Internet event in underdeveloped regions shows a dispersed manner when compared with one in coastal region. Last but not least, market-oriented newspapers display more convergence than party media do.
