Research On "Data News" Under The Background Of Large Data

Since2011,"big data" has become the focus of attention of various walks of life, then, many statements such as data-driven journalism、allowing the data to speak freely etc are widely spreaded all over the world. But at present, there still exists shortcomings in the systematic research on data-driven journalism. Data-driven journalism is an entirely new news reporting form which comes into being with the integration of big data and journalism. In short, data-driven journalism adopts data analysis tool to mine and abstract valuable information, making it visualized to the audience. During the2014Spring Festival Move, Baidu analyzed hundreds of millions of cell phone users’ LBS data and made a dynamic chart about the largest annual migration, finally these data was presented by means of visualization on the screen by CCTV. Then the audience can visually perceive the real situation during the Spring Festival Move. Although data-driven journalism was not mentioned until recently, its conception was closely related to Computer-Assisted Reporting and accurate journalism.This paper will take mainstream media at home and abroad for example to tease out the conception history、present status of data-driven journalism, analyze deeply the evolution of data-driven journalism relative to traditional journalism on news production mode、visualized form reporting strategy etc from multiple dimensions such as data-based news、data-based audience and so on, then focus on news production procedure to discuss about the future development trend of data-driven journalism.This paper considers that big data is not only a huge opportunity but also a tremendous challenge, which on the one hand brings about positive significance, but on the other hand receives restriction from multiple reverse factors, such as blind worship of technology、limited data publicity、data-driven journalism education can’t keep pace with the age of big data etc. News media must look at questions rationally, combine the practice of social and natural research together, grasp good data analyzing and mining skills, utilize visualized tools proficiently, only in this way can they benefit from big data and boost the sustainable development of data-driven journalism.
