Research On Mobilization And Consultation Of Media In Urban Environmental Rights Protection

With China’s rapid economic development in recent years, our country has made remarkable achievements on the modernization construction. However, people’s living environment has deteriorated in recent years. In order to protect the environment and human rights, struggles in different degrees are constantly on the rise, and the "walk" behavior of urban people has been booming. Accompanied by the increasingly awakening consciousness of people and the changing of the media, the media has began to play a more and more important role in safeguarding people’s rights.Taking ningbo PX event for example, this dissertation tries to analyze media roles and performance by carding the PX event. The methods of text analysis and content analysis are also been used.Taking the information spreading of mass for an entry point, this article analyze the difference of the old and the new media on the dissemination of information. Furthermore, the article discussed how the old and new media in the urban environment rights mobilize,how the communication and negotiation between government and mass people achieves and how to prompt the event has a reasonable solution in the end. The article also summarizes the media’s performance in urban environmental movement,points out the shortages and defects of the media. What’s more,some prospects have been putting forwardThrough analyze the mobilization of the media in the ningbo PX event, we found that the media has become an important force in the urban environment rights protection, especially with the rapid development of new media, it has increasingly played a role between information competitors.Traditional medias are using backward and professional advantages to keep information integration. Complement and cooperation between the two have taken place. Without the injection of new media, information is difficult to convey to the public.With the lack of old media, environmental rights movement is difficult to continue,they jointly promote the development of the urban environmental rights movement through cooperation.What needs to be elaborated is that this paper does not think that the media is a decisive or definitive power,it just as Paul levinson says in his<the soft edge tool>, the media may not be a sufficient and necessary conditions of the event, but the existence of the media itself makes event possible.What this article attach more importance is just the function of mass as soft edge tool.
