Research On Media Orientation In Adjacent Environmental Risk Conflict

Adjacent environmental risk conflicts are also known as NIMBY movement in China,and are usually large-scale civic protests caused by the construction of a range of public facilities.The urban middle class express their environmental claims through a series of spontaneous resistance actions and strive for their own environmental rights and interests.Since the reform and opening up,with the domestic industrialization,urbanization,marketization and other modern development process,the Chinese economy has made remarkable changes and people's lives has become better and better.There are more and more people began to show their own society a great concern after the material life is met,while at the same time the rapid economic development is accompanied by the accompanying environmental problems,but also makes the urban middle classcome to realize the significance of environmental rights.Adjacent environmental risk conflicts can be described as the typical representative of groups of the mass incidents in recent years.On the other hand,behind this kind of protest movement,the media began to play an increasingly important role.This paper analyzes the role and performance of the media in the process of occurrence of such events by combing case studies of several environmental risk conflicts over the past decade and using comparative research methods such as case studies and literature research.To explore how these large-scale protest movements are mobilized and disseminated by the media under the special social context of the country,and how the traditional media and the new media have played their respective roles,and the ability and effect of media mobilization and dissemination in different protest operations And also how does this difference affect the process and results of the struggle.Finally,the paper also summarizes the problems existing in the conflicts of adjacent environment and the problems of media communication,points out the shortcomings and puts forward some suggestions and prospects for the benign interaction between government,enterprises,citizens and the media.Firstly,to enhance public media literacy,to achieve a social consensus;Secondly,to enhance the Professional level and social credibility of the media;Thirdly,to strengthen the government's ability to deal with the crisis;Fourthly,to change the concept of media regulation,to create a relaxed atmosphere of information dissemination.
