Since the 1990s, the urban redevelopment in Shanghai has begun to enter the stage of large-scale urban layout and industrial structure adjustment. In the 20 years, there are many conflicts about demolishing old housing, building business circle and protecting local culture. As the representation of urban redevelopment in Shanghai, Tianzi Fang which used to be an unknown street has become a well-known creative park now. However, the developing process isn't flat, involving competition among different interest groups such as government, business capital, and local residents. Actually, the mass media has played an important role in the social affairs.In the study on modern media, there are two approaches including political economics and culture research, appearing to be opposed relationship usually. Meanwhile, there is another research approach about news production analysis, which is important but often be ignored. With the perspective, we are able to know about news source, news choice, news agencies'organizational form, the professionalism and others.In this research, the author collected the reports about Tianzi Fang in the ten years from 2000 to 2010. With media content analysis, and interview to related journalist, editor and some interviewees in these reports,Ⅰtry to analyze the production process, show various control powers externally and internally. In addition, this study mainly has the following two dimensions:one is the historical process analysis; the other is production process analysis.
