With the more than ten years development of substation automation technology, it has reached a certain level. In recent years, large amounts of substations adopted automation technology in electronic network renovation and construction, that greatly improved the modernization of the electrical network construction, strengthened the reliability of transmission and distribution, and reduced the total cost of substation construction. The application of electronic instrument transformer effectively promoted the research of digital substation. The application of the technology and digital protection technology and advanced optical fiber communication technology will make the substation automation technology undergoing a profound change.In order to achieve the real-time monitoring,testing and faster to know the operational status of substation equipment of the digital substation systems. This paper proposes a designing of a fiber signal analyzer for substation system. The analyzer is mainly used for capture, analysis, display the data of packet like GOOSE ,9-2, FT3 that transmissing on substation control layer Ethernet. In this paper research designing of the hardware platform and software systems.The main contents including:1. According to the demand for the function of the optical signal analyzer, complete the designing of the hardware platform, including fiber optic transceivers, AD converter module, FT3 decoding module and system design of a variety of peripheral interfaces.2. Build software development environment to the embedded software designing, including host PC and target board, cross-compiler environment, and the driver of the various peripheral interface and hardware.3. Research the various formats message(such as GOOSE, FT3 ,9-1/2) defined in the Statute based on IEC61850, including packet decoding, computing, processing, accessing to the valid data of frame format.4. Design of the waveform display control unit and a good interactive interface (GUI), according to the demand to achieve rhe shift of the waveform on the up and down, left and right span, and other functions, the requirements of the waveform display with the same general requirements of the oscilloscope.The designing and development of this Electric Fiber Signal Analyzer, can provide users with a more humane, rapider prepared monitoring platform, better realize real-time monitoring system of transformer substation, and further promote the realization and development of electric power transfers network.
